Sveta Raguimova

Sveta Raguimova has been a very artistic soul nurtured by the warm sun of Baku, the capital of one of the former Soviet republic. Her talents were noticed at the movie studio and she was offered her first role in the film "Oasis On Fire". The next film, "Before The Closed Door", featured her in the leading role. She appeared in several movies and had fun doing voices for animated features. The desire to find personal and artistic freedom in the US interrupted her movie career.

Georgia O'Keefe wrote: "When you take a flower in your hand and really look at it, it's your world for the moment". When Sveta's daughter, Paulina, was born and she looked at this delicate flower of a baby, she felt inspired to paint. She devoted all her spare time to it.

Her most favorite subject is to paint flowers. An amazing mixture of paint with a feeling for color and creative composition allows her to create unique art pieces, which are distinctive, they cannot be mistaken for anybody else's. Her dreamlike paintings invite the observer into the picture - to drink the colors with your eyes, to revive long forgotten smells and sounds, to relive a nostalgic moment. Like in Kurosawa's "Dreams" you are invited to the magical world of the artist, into the Van Gogh - like world of dreams and visions.

Sveta now lives in Redondo Beach, California with her husband and their two wonderful daughters. Her works have been exhibited throughout Southern California, in Los Angeles, Long Beach and Palos Verdes.
